Sulfides at Sky Top, central Pennsylvania
View of the Large Cut Face at Skytop
This work involves a major, multi-year consulting project conducted for PennDOT.  The construction of Interstate
highway 99 through Centre County, PA included crossing the Sky Top wind gap on Bald Eagle Ridge, a few miles west of
State College.  The deep excavations through the ridge exposed large amounts of pyrite and other sulfide minerals.
